Okay, so, I’m a very good player, but, I’m confused about exactly how deep I should be thinking against other good plyers (expert or professional level). For example, heads up, I have 67s or a similar hand, limp on the button, opponant checks, then the flop comes paired, with low cards, such as 228. No straight or flush possibilities, and, of course I have nothing, so I could make a stab and then give up on the pot, but, with a paired board, especially with low cards, strategy would advise a bluff since there is so little chance your opponant has a hand, but the problem is that my opponant knows this, and I know he knows this, and HE knows I know he knows this, etc. So, I guess what I’m asking is exactly how deep do the very best players (phil ivey, durrr, etc.) think about these sort of situations….generally. Do they make the “book move”, or do they make the opposite of the book move because they know you’d expect it, or do they make the book move because they’d know you’d expect the opposite of the book move, etc., etc. etc. ???
OH, and I know you’re only supposed to think one level above your opponant, but how often do you do this, and how are you supposed to recognize what level they’re thinking on?
